Cassie
15hh 7yo ultimate turbocob! A fun, forward pocket rocket jumping machine with a sweet nature and level head.
Cassie is a sturdy but sporty compact model with plenty of power and engine! She is a competitive type and is a forward, responsive, sensitive ride. She has completed in all three phases, dressage, show jumping and cross country. She has been round 80/90cm SJ courses, proving brave and unfazed by fillers or busy environments. She is economical over a jump, and quick against the clock. Her first show jumping experience was competing at the summer Cricklands show, stabling without any trouble and competing in both the speed rounds and normal classes confidently.
In any show environment, Cassie is easy to handle on the ground and will wait quietly on the box until she is required. Focuses on the job in hand and is neither spooky or silly when she is doing her job.
Cassie has completed up to prelim dressage. Her scores have always been in the mid to high 60s with some scores sitting in the 70s. Dressage is her weakest phase, more noticeable when she is at an event and is aware she will be jumping. In a pure dressage environment she is a lot more focused and relaxed, however, the majority of her competition experience has been jumping.
Cassie started eventing late last year, attending one day events at Dauntsey and the Cotswold Cup Championship. With a professional rider, she completed her first 80 with a clear XC and one pole. She placed 9th and qualified for the Young Horse Championships at Calmsdon, which we did not attend due to a planned competition the following weekend. She then took her amateur rider round her first one day, at the 80 Cotswold Cup. In a busy environment she achieved a 36 dressage, and completed both jumping phases with confidence putting them in 15th place. Since then she has been to hunter trials and finished second in a field of 40 plus horses at her first 90 run, and completed many rounds in a pair, jumping dressed fences and leading novice or nappy horses.
In September she returned to Cricklands for the derby show, again jumping with confidence round a challenging course to come 5th in a field of 60 plus horses. She qualified for the BE championships in Liverpool, and also qualified for the local eventers challenge championships from successful runs.
Cassie has attended many fun rides and thrives on being out and about, jumping natural fences and exploring the countryside. She is bold and forward with the scope to clear large fences without being overzealous. She covers the ground and doesn't tire, so often makes good time XC and can stay up the front with the bigger boys. She is a horse with a clear understanding of her job, and although she's level headed, she will bounce and tell you if you are holding her back from something she is more than capable of doing.
Cassie hacks confidently alone and in company. She is not spooky or sharp, and she has been ridden by tots on the road, as she is very trustworthy. She is not bothered by heavy traffic, bin day or things flapping in the hedge line.
In January of this year, Cassie was used as a double horse for filming. She has been ridden with drones over head and smoke machines going off. Her attitude to most things in life are "and what" but deep down she is a sensitive girl who requires the confidence of her rider to tackle whatever comes her way.
Cassie doesn't require sedation or twitching for clipping, the dentist or the vet. She is incredibly tolerant and well mannered on the ground. She can be loaded by a child on the trailer, and has travelled in lorries without any issues. She is currently unshod, but has been shod previously on the front and can be attended to by the farrier without supervision.
Cassie attended her first hunt on Boxing Day, at a busy High Street with horses and onlookers. She stood quietly before the horses set off and soon settled into the rhythm of stop start, jumping anything asked of her and waiting patiently in between.
A majority of Cassie's experiences have been done alone, without the company of other horses. She is not needy or nappy, and is sensible enough you can take her to rallies, hacks and competitions without support. She has also been to the beach and loves the water and long stretches for galloping.
The next steps for her are to do more and more of these things. She has been regularly taken out and enjoys her work. She is not a kick along, push button, she is highly competitive and driven to do a job and needs a rider who will meet her at her level. Not suitable for a novice. She can feel strong, and while it is tempting to throw a strong bit in her mouth, the reality is she is still growing and developing to have the strength to carry herself and a rider. Her attitude in the ground is second to none, she is as easy as they come. You can mount her from anywhere, and know wherever you take her, she will give her all.
Cassie's only flaw that means she isn't considerably more expensive is that she currently has 2 sarcoids. One is behind her elbow and one is between her buttocks. They do not interfere with any tack and could easily be banded if required. Priced to reflect.
