16.2hh rising 6yo rare breed Slovakian Draught Horse. An absolute unit who would make the ideal project for a confident rider!
A seriously impressive and much admired horse who steals the show wherever he goes, Alun is solid as a mountain. Definitely a weight carrier! Imported from Slovakia as a young horse, he was then backed here in the UK and ridden on. Alun has done lots of hacking and a bit of schooling and pole clinics before being turned away to mature due to his size. Alun has been done slowly and sympathetically due to his size and he is now ready for a confident competent rider to bring him back into work for hacking, showing or anything else your heart desires!
Alun loves his groundwork and is a pro at long reining - could definitely be taught to drive or pull. He is great to hack both alone and in company and really marches out, not bothered by the traffic.
Alun is a real BFG, a kind, soppy teddy bear who is always so happy to see you and loves a cuddle. He is good to do on the ground, to catch, clip, load, pick up feet etc but is a big horse so needs a handler who isn't intimidated by his size.
A rare opportunity to find this kind of horse at this price who would be at least 3 times as much in work. A blank slate ready for someone to put their stamp on.
