15.2hh 5yo grey registered ISH gelding from Cavalier Royale lines. Seriously quality prospect for junior or amateur.
Cobalt is an incredibly classy young horse, compact and athletic with good bone and limbs. He has great presence and really stands out in a crowd, drawing comments whenever we take him out. Although he is only 15.2hh Cobalt rides very much like a horse rather than a big pony and has plenty of stride.
Cobalt is working sweetly on the flat with 3 good paces. He is obedient and responsive to the aids with a lovely mouth that deserves equally lovely hands. Holds himself nicely into a shape without the need for faffing. He is a little wobbly still but improves every day. Tries very hard and is very trainable but he is a classy, sensitive young horse that deserves a competent, confident, well balanced rider who will treat and produce him with respect. Please no novices. Has started doing local dressage and could excel in this area with the right production.
Regularly out cross country schooling including water, ditches, banks. Bold with different types of fences and has done a mini hunter trial. Covers the ground well and has plenty of potential to make a really quality junior or amateur event horse with the right production. Has done fun rides where he behaved impeccably, happily cantering at the back or in the middle on a loose rein in a snaffle and not at all phased by the other horses getting close to him. Lovely chilled out character that really takes life in his stride. Would make a fabulous hunter.
Showing real quality and scope over a fence. He is bold and wants to leave them up, takes you into a fence nicely and doesn't get silly on the other side. Now jumping local shows and clear rounds at 70cm, ready to move up.
Great to hack, good on the roads and in open spaces, has only ever been ridden in a snaffle. He is a sweet, friendly chap who very much wants to get to know you and get things right but he is a sensitive soul with a bit about him and still a bit wary on the ground with strangers. He is not the kind of horse that will tolerate the viewings where 4 random strangers go barging into his stable grabbing at his legs and poking and squeezing him all over - we are going to be very picky on who we allow to view and it is very important to us that he is treated kindly and with respect.
Right home is of utmost importance.
Serious enquiries to please call only. Is thought to have what may possibly be a very small sarcoid on his sheath which will not affect his performance or soundness and is best left alone.
